Why Do You Need to Avoid Genetically Modified Food (1)?

Do you know that 75 percent of all processed foods in this country contain some genetically modified(GM) ingredients. I guess your question would be what is wrong with GM food. That’s a good question because only 43% of people in the US know that some of the food they are purchasing and eating is genetically modified, according to a survey conducted by the International Food Information Council(IFIC), an industry group funded by food, beverage and agricultural industries. Additionally nearly one of four people incorrectly believes that such food is not being sold in the US.

Studies have shown that GM food increase cancer risks, cause food allergies, damage food quality and nutrition... There are four major GM plants. They are soy, corn, canola, and cotton. Small amount of Hawaiian papaya, zucchini and yellow crookneck squash are GM plants as well. Another GM product is called Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH), manufactured by Monsanto. rBGH is injected into dairy cows to force them to produce more milk. Be careful to read label when you buy milk.

You’ll be very surprised when you read something from this website:

In my next post I am going to share with you how we can avoid GM food as much as possible when we do grocery shopping.
